The express cruiser helmsman's eyes are located about half way inbetween where the helmsman's eyes would be located off the water at the inside and outside stations on the cruiser in front.

Note, the height of the cockpit sides between the boat in the forground and then the boat behind it. (That's a large sailcraft even further back with the blue hull)

Waves sure look smaller when you are way up in the air.

It would be warmer up that high too, since you are closer to the sun.

Yes the 74C. This boat has an option for twin 2,400 HP V-16
MTU Diesels and up to a 3,000 gallon fuel capacity. It moves out for a yacht this size.

With those engines it OUGHT to move out well. Boats I'm looking at in the 55' range have twins that range from 400-550 horses. I can't imagine feeding 4800 horsepower. No wonder it has a 3,000 gallon capacity. YIKES!

This express vs flybridge argument goes on endlessly over at YBW. With the flybridge crowd convinced that the express crowd is utterly daft. The flybridge case being that the "curtains" on an express must be fully up at all times. And much more trouble than its worth. The express fans claim better visibility and handiness, especially when docking. Though the express crowd DNA does seem to feel a pull toward The Med, which the flybridge crowd does not.

Having had both types, each has its benifits and drawbacks.

For single handling with bad knees, I prefer the Express.
