We have XM in my truck, wifes new car can receive Sirius. The free Sirius trial ended this month and she is missing it greatly.

Contacted Sirius about merging our accounts. The rep said that is a least a month off.
I like both of the systems and have found so many different styles of music that I like but had never heard.

Don't count your chickens before the eggs hatch. I bet this isn't the end of the story. There are too many behind the scenes moves to prevent or delay the merger for it to go through so smoothly. Do a search on the merger and Jim Cramer - the whole thing is an afront to the US political system. Lobbyists for traditional radio have caused congress to stall this solely out of fear that the merger will spell doom for their backers. Exxon/Mobil went through without a hitch - what lobby could afford to counter the oil companies. Tell me, if Exxon/Mobil, the merger of, then, the 2 biggest oil companies on earth isn't a monopoly, why would Sirius/XM be? Satellite radio is not a necessity, the prices have been set to decrease if the merger goes through. The free radio industry is scared to death of this merger, hence it has been shelved for almost a year and a half. I don't think any other merger has taken this long.

Seabones,
Good point. I know it was argued before the SEC that as long as there is free, commercial broadcasts then they could not really be a monopoly. They have caught a lot of flak in this, should not have taken this long.
Another reason we need to find some way of getting the power of money and lobbyists reduced.
I have heard that the highest real estate appreciation rate has been "K" street in D.C.

The best of both programming will be available starting Oct. 6 for $16.99 per month, $4 more than current existing monthly fees. It will also start offering a la carte programming to subscribers for the first time next month.
