Anybody from MA/NH see those pictures Seabuddy posted and immediately think: "Michael's Harborside" like I did?

We like the sandwich and chips in a cooler for the lake trips but on the ocean jaunts my kids have fallen in love with "Dock and Dine".

Last time out in November, HockeyFamily, one who shall remain nameless and I tried the Bluewater Grill in Newport Harbor. The three of us enjoyed a nice meal (the swordfish was tasty and the sauce they served with it was great) outside by the water.

Can't afford to do it every day but it sure is a nice treat. grin

Tying up to the string line (2 hour free parking just off the beach) is fun with the wind coming over the ithsmus then the swim from the boat to the beach. What a blast. You could unload on the float, but then someone still needs to tie off the boat to the stringline.

I've docked and dined here many times and here too, but not as often.

How many have bbq'd on the hook at the base of Hoover Dam?

About the bend in the river is a bouy line that is as close as you can get, but it is a great view from there.

There used to be a great restaurant and bar at Willow Beach but they closed it and the hotel after several flash floods made the property too risky for further occupation. Now there is only a launch ramp, fuel dock and store where the restaurant used to be. I've seen many a hot summer day go buy from that bar sipping on frothy beverages.

Never been that far north on Mojave.....and we don't have a bbq on the boat.....been to Willow for fuel......always stay at Cottonwood so dining there happens at least once each trip....

You need a depth finder or fish finder to get up there as there is several bars and rocky rapids to get through, although the depth is about five feet or more.

Not to drift, but you can also visit the hot springs while up there.

I have a bit of gel coat missing on the aft port side from tying up at the hot springs. Its tricky with eddies from the flow off the power generators and the level can drop quickly when they shut one down if you're there later in the day and the power demand drops.

deepv - Love the pics. Brings back memories of Boy Scout canoe trips. The hot springs were great. Just don't inhale that brain eating organism that lives in them. bug_eyes
