I'll always remember going out into the garage during the summer, and seeing Dad fixing one of the cars while listening to the Royals on a little gray Westinghouse transistor radio. I can still hear it.

As long as the Rays beat the White Sox everytime they play, I am happy! But yep, the Rays are doing great and i love it.

230Mike, the sound you are hearing from your radio these days is the people screaming after 12 straight losses.

Of course the Royals are the only thing keeping the Tigers out of last place!

Going to the game tonight, Trace Adkins is playing after the game too.

I haven't figured out how to post pictures since the changes here Billy, haven't really had time to sit down and try to work it out, but doesn't work like it used to from the BABC picture site.

Best game I have ever been to last night, sold out (36K). The energy in that place was awesome, never experienced anything even close at a Rays game. They don't need a new stadium, they need people to come to the existing one, I don't think it could have gotten any better. To add to that, getting in and out before and after the game wasn't a problem.

Many thanks to Trace Adkins for bringing the crowd out and showing us how it could be, hopefully those that were there talk it up. I know most were there for the concert after, but they couldn't help but get behind the team during the game. The place was rocking, and if there were any White Sox fans there they were drowned out and buried in the Rays mob.

The concert was good too, he played for a little over an hour after the game, I think everybody stayed for the show.

Oh yeah, the Rays gave us another win!

Goofy looking. Kinda like a sailbote! Or like Stade de Olympique in Montreal. Is Al Lang stadium in a more or less desirable part of St. Pete than the current Suncoast Dome?

More because of the waterfront, but that doesn't really have anything to do with baseball. It is not as easy access even though it is only a few miles away, all downtown streets vs the interstate just dumping you at the dome.

I agree! The excitement this year is amazing - and I haven't been to a sell-out game this year. That is what winning will do - especially from a team that expected to be at the bottom.

I used to have a friend with ties to box seats.
Haven't heard from that guy in a while - those tickets are probably hard to come by now.
Maybe I will give that guy a call, just to see...

This morning I was thinking about asking the family if they wanted to go to today’s game.
I thought they would all say no, so I didn't ask.
When we turned the game on I mentioned the idea.
The admiral and the oldest didn't say much... but the youngest was ticked that the two of us didn't go.
When we watched the walk-off in the 10th, my youngest gave me the hands-on-the-hips, turned-head, sarcastic comment: “We better go next time”.
OK – lesson learned grin

Who's that guy your talking about? w

They are getting harder to come by, especially weekend games, I had to play the boss card several times on Saturdays tickets with the concert, hate to do that, but I had committed to my wife and a couple of coworker friends that we would go.

I tried to call you a couple of weeks ago by the way, to go to a Friday night Storm game (XO Club seats), couldn't get you to answer any one of the three phone numbers I have for you, so don't blame me!!

Can’t help blogging away when they are doing so well smile

34k on hand during tonight’s game, great numbers for a weeknight game.
Sure, some were Cubs fans, but they were quiet after the 7th funny

Third time this year the Rays have swept a #1 team.
First time the Cubs have been swept this year.

It is only June... but... (I will stop there...)
My youngest has reminded me a few times that we are supposed to go the next time they are home.
This weekend d

What a great series to watch! They kept me up late every night because I just didn't want to turn it off.
