Try $160 to fill up my Yukon XL from empty! The days of $80 fill ups are a distant memory.

Thank goodness my commute is only 4 miles.

$80 only gets me about 16 gallons. Diesel average of $5 a gallon. I have a 44 gallon tank. I fill up about every 10 days. It ain't pretty...

I remember when I used to have my Yukon Xl and it cost me $80 to fill up. Gas was only $2.50.

Most pumps around here require that I swipe my credit card twice just so I can get $80 of gas. (The pumps cut off at $75.)

At least when I filled the boat this last time the pump waited to cut off at $100. Had to still put in $20 more. This at $3.77/gallon a couple of weeks ago. W out we didn't even go through 1/4 tank; stayed on the hook most of the day.

It cost me close to $40 just to fill my Integra's tank this last time. That was for only 9.775 gallons (the tank holds around 11 gallons). Good thing I'm getting right around 40mpg in this car!

I was hooking the boat up last Friday evening when a guy stopped in front of my house and yells, "What? You gonna go rob a gas station to fill that thing?"

It gets pretty bad when people driving down the street stop to heckle you.

We're taking the babyliner and the motorhome for a 3-day weekend to a lake a whopping 78 miles away. Just to drive the motorhome there and back will cost me an estimated $154 for gas. That's at the bargain price of $3.79 a gallon. You poor bastards with diesels....eek (My gas gauge don't work, so I put in $175 worth. The extra was less than 7 gallons)
rolleyes

I don't give a rats lower cheekbone what anyone says, that's f*****g ridiculous. Especially considering I expect to use only $75 or less in BOAT gas for the whole weekend! And even THAT'S ridiculous!!

I hear you on that one. They don't realize if I don't want to spend to much gas I can just go to the beach with the boat and stay there for the day, or at anchor, beach bar, etc.

If you compare to some other fun activities like staying at a campground all weekend the money spent is not much different.

I'm looking at $112 to fill up at $4.00. Wait its not $4.00 anymore, its $4.05. Ahh, the good old days of $3.90 are already a distant memory. Its pretty bad when it takes 2 credit card swipes at the pump to fill up.

You guys are lucky. The US has the lowest price on this continent. Over here we are paying 1.34$/liter. This converts to 5.07$ per Gallon and that's not at the marina.

That's not quite true.

Head south to Mexico and you can still get diesel at 2.05/gallon. I paid 4.89 when I filled the truck on Sunday. Gas is 4.45 for regular in Norcal now. 4.25 in Reno.

$80 too much for a fill-up? That's 20 gallons at $4 a gallon.

Buy a car with a smaller gas tank and the problem is solved. thumb

$4.59 today for Regular at Chevron.
Interestingly, Diesel had dropped to $4.99

$80 got me almost 3/4 of a tank.

I haven't seen a full tank in my service truck in months. The credit card kicks the pump off at $95. Probably $170 to fill'er up every two days. Service and labor rates have risen accordingly.

But is it the new low sulfur diesel standard like US and Canada? If not that would explain the lower cost.

Whether it is ULSD or LSD doesn't explain the entire cost. Some of the stations on the border are selling the ULSD at that price.

When the truck gets to a half a tank, I fill it up. I think of it as investing. I would rather put smaller amounts of money at more frequent times than one large amount at one time. I forget what the financial term is for this but that is what I do. I receive 10% off for the first 90 days of using my gas card than is switches to 4% on day 91. My 90 days end in August so that will get me through most of the summer.

I used to refill at 3/4 of a tank but I think I'm switching to half...I can't stand to swipe my card twice to fill it up plus then its a pain to figure my gas mileage

I drive a diesel, and see no such phenomenon. I'll continue to pay the price, as I'm not going back to a gasser for my tow vehicle. Global warming or no, there will be a silouette of me putting $145 worth of diesel into my truck on my head stone... Death before a Prius.
