Not for us, but we find it a little uncomfortable once the mercury passes 100 degree's.

And it probably will again today.

But that won't stop us from hitting the Delta. Heading out in a little bit to take some friends to a waterfront restaurant for lunch.

When I had my cruiser with A/C and a lower station, I took advantage of that luxury quite often.

Now, we just pull over to a quiet slough and jump in for a few minutes.

I'm sure there are plenty of places that are a lot hotter than 100 degree's, and I'm sure that their waterways are crowded on those days.

But does it ever get TOO hot?

I've boated in 112 at Havasu, but it gets to 120+,... the only thing that's too hot is the dock, the car, and the carpeting in the boat!!!

Ouch!

The hottest that I have boated in was 113. And no wind. Not even a breeze!

I don't care to do that again...

As you mentioned, EVERYTHING else is just too darn hot!

Enjoy!

Wife and son are very faired skin, once the temp is above about 100 their time on the water decreases.
Early morning and late afternoon/evening are the best times for us.

Last year it was about 105 and I took my 80 yr old mother out with us. She is generally in good health but I could not stop moving or she started looking pale likr she was going to pass out. As long as I was moving she was ok. That day was to hot for her. So I guess the answer depends on health and complextion. For me, the hotter the better.

I've had some issues that seem like vapor lock with air temps above 115 degrees......water is also so warm it's not refreshing to jump in......ideal air temps for me are 95-105.....

I wish we could get weather like that. We only get 1 or 2 weeks of really hot weather (90+) but usually its 75 to 90 most of the summer.

Yeah, we do not have that problem here. I would have to get out the bimini if it ever got that hot or if it were consistantly in the 90's. But I've never used it.

The hottest we've been out was 112. That was DARN hot. We spent much of the time in the water trying to cool off. Thank God for bimini tops to keep the sun off.

In Morgan South Australia during summer it is common to get days over 100 but once it gets over 110 we tend to spend time in the water as opposed to on the water. For the record I have seen the temp hit 51 degrees celcius [not sure of what that translates to in farineit but it is WELL OVER 125]and when the thermometer was moved into the sun it exploded. YES that was darn hot ,you could swim fully clothed and be bone dry in 10 mins after the swim
enjoy the summer everone in the northern hemisphere

Several years ago we were fishing in a 14' jon boat and surface temp on the depth finder was 94* Don't know what air temp was but is was darn hot! And, we weren't swimming that day! Only caught 2 tiny Crappie in the shade.

To hot may be caused by humidity as apposed to actual temperature. We spent an extreamly looong 4th of July weekend on Lake of the Ozarks. Three boats trying to find a cool spot to achor out for the night ended up tied to a shoreside Motel's dock and checked into airconditioned rooms. Packed up the next day and headed home.

At the lower Colorado River, midday temps hover in the 108°-114° range during July and August. When it gets over 112, we tend to use the low chairs and sit on the sandbars with our feet and butts in the water-which itself is above 85°. Not a whole lotta fun, we use lots of fold-up awnings and miss the pontoon boat's double bimini at those times.
