She displays the flair of a commuter yacht from the 1930s, but is actually from the 2001-2004 era of very low production watercraft from a famous boat builder.

Santa Cruz has a long-standing reputation of making the winning sail craft for many of the west coast races, such as the Newport to Ensenada race and the Trans-Pac. They make light, high-tech boats that reflect a lot of original thinking in each design.

She has a single diesel engine of about 450 Hp and an UltraJet 340A drive. As a refinement of Naval Architect Gerr’s hull shape (“adjusted” for the water jet drive) she delivers a different ride along the coast as well as during shorter sea runs. The combination of this hull/drive/high-tech construction results in good fuel economy around 25 to almost 30 mph if she’s not loaded down with an abundance of boat supplies and gear.

The high-tech construction sets the pace for this yacht. It keeps it light, but strong. One engine—instead of two—further lightens it up. At 41’ with a 12' 9" beam, cruising at 25 mph cruise and then with 450 or so Hp, you must take notice. She weighs in similar to a 34'-36' gas engine boat and attains a similar cruising speed, but without the 575-600 Hp engines other 34'-36' boats typically require.

Gorgeous boat but the hull looks like it would be a pounder in snotty stuff. Is that a thruster in the front of it? I could see how that would help a pump driven boat move around the docks easier.

True semi-custom boat. Custom would be if you owned the plans for the hull, semi-custom is when you use someone's hull mold or design that they own. Production is if the boat, that size, is/was made as a series. Low Volume production versas high volume depends on how that model is received within the industry and by boaters.
