FINALLY, we got the boat out of the water so I could take pics of the new rig! The truck doesn't belong to me, but I was told it's "mine" whenever I need it (as long as it's in town \:\) ), so...

BTW, it's hardly roadworthy at the moment--aside from the trailer needing beefing up, the top of the canopy is over 20' off the ground, it won't fit under many power lines or overpasses like this!

Why don't you just borrow my truck and I'll take your Shelby when you go boating?

That 272 might be a little bit too much for the solid F150. \:\)

Nice Car, BTW.

EDIT: Actually, the F150 could probably handle it just fine. I like how Dorsey? used triple axles under that length of boat. Did you spec that or is that standard?

Hey D-rod,

Thanks, I had a '97 Mustang Cobra with a little over 300 HP and it was fun, but this Shelby is almost scary when you tromp on it.

The trailer is made by Metal Craft and was under the boat in the showroom (Taylor's Boats in Draper Utah). The dealer has started to spec triple axles on anything over 26 feet. I'm gald, I love the way the trailer looks and tracks. I really pull it with a 2005 half-ton Yukon. It's about all it can do on the up-hills but seems to handle the load OK.

Always loved the Mustang. My first car was a '69 Mach 1 428 Super Cobra Jet ($1,800 used in 1973). Had to let her go when I got married (8 mpg after the Hooker headers, Sig Erson cam, Edelbrock manifold, etc, etc).

When I was discharged, I worked at Galpin Ford used car reconditioning center. We got a '67 Shelby 427, dual quad, ... They would only let the old mechanic test drive it. When he got back he said he got her going 60 up the freeway on ramp ... then he shifted to 3rd.
