I received a gift card, to a chain sub restaurant, from work on May 1st. The only note on it stating who it was from was "birthday committee".
Today I went to use my gift card for the first time and my lunch bill came to $3.28. I had no idea what the card was worth so I asked the cashier for the balance and he pointed to the receipt. My balance is now $3.27. This means the total gift card was worth $6.55. That seams like an odd gift card amount as I thought it would have been $10. I call the phone number on the gift card to ask them what the original amount was. The service rep gave me the history:
Card purchased in December 2007 for $10
January 2008 $8.45 was subtracted
April 2008 $5 was added
May 16 (today) $3.28 subtracted giving me a grand total of $3.27.
I am grateful that I received one 6" sub for free and will be able to get one additional 6" sub for free but how cheap can someone be to give me a regifted gift card?
