No, not you LL, but you witnessed how it went for the Bucs and the Lightning, all of a sudden everybody loved them when they won, and all those guys that showed up in their favorite team colors all of a sudden went out and bought home team colors. Wait a minute, maybe I am talking about you! grin Just kidding, or am I? Hmmm....

Today’s game really ticked me off Chris!
My Dad watched it on ESPN & even he couldn’t believe the call on Ayabar!

But there are so many things that factor in... for instance if Upton wasn’t enjoying a picnic at center.... Pierzynski wouldn’t have tagged from first!!
I swear... I would have already benched that lazy SOB for the rest of the year (Upton mad )
I am still fired up...

I couldn't believe that call, but it is only the latest of 3 or 4 this year that just baffled me. I don't feel that it cost them the game, as you said Upton and his lazy approach to a deep but fairly routine fly ball and throw, then Riggins not handling a pretty nice hop on the throw in from left is what really cost them. But that call sure didn't help the cause at all.

Rays fans should go to the site below and vote for pitcher David Price of the Durham Bulls for minor league player of the year. He was the 2007 first round draft pick from Vanderbilt. He is something like 11-1 with an era slightly over 2 pitching in A, AA, and now AAA. There is some speculation that he may be called up to provide bullpen help to the Rays in the playoff run.

My favorite umpire, Ted Barrett, said that the umps got that call on Aybar/Pierzynski correct.
And my favorite player went 3 for 4 and tied Double X on the all time home run list. Too bad the Suck Sox had to win the game!

They all stick together, being a coach I don't have a real high opinion of umpires!

It is September & who has the best record in baseball?

Yesterday, my youngest and I waited for over an hour to get tickets.
It was worth every minute of the wait thumb

Here are a few pics from yesterday’s game:

This was mid-inning, she wasn’t blocking anyone’s view – just taking it all in.

BillyB, the stands were pretty full for this game – and it was very loud!

The win & the sweep ... they haven’t lost a series since before the break d
During this game, we all erupted when we saw that Boston lost to the White Sox & the Yanks lost to the Jays grin

After the game, she wanted to wait in line to run the bases...

On the way to the car, she was still excited – even in the rain.
We talked about the game the whole way home.
Even if things don’t end so well for the Rays, this is a very special year for us smile

It is so strange to see the "bullpen" along the stands where the hockey rink used to be! shocked
Sure wish that building had some windows to let in some natural light. Your really good pictures would have been even better! laugh

Did the rain last longer than 20 mintues because of the hurricane? grin

But yeah, the D-Rays are looking like they are going to get it done! And great for them! thumb

The magic number is 1 for the postseason d
There are only two regular season home games left.
Hopefully it will happen when we are at the game tomorrow!

The wife and oldest daughter are going with us this time (it disrupts our rhythm, but I guess we will take them along idn grin )

In my blog fashion:
Apple Bottom Jeans & the boots with the fur
The whole club lookin at her
She hit the floor...

Me and my youngest love it when Willy Aybar comes to the plate & we hear that song,
whether at the game or watching on Rays TV.
Kind of our sing-out-loud song whenever we hear it thumb

I am not sure I understand the info in this link about ALDS ticket reservations.
http://tampabay.rays.mlb.com/tb/ticketing/postseason_info.jsp
It sounds like you have to register for postseason tickets or put a deposit on ’09 season tickets to guarantee postseason tickets.
If anyone has advice on postseason MLB tickets, let me know.
Never had to worry about this before d d d

They are getting it done, without some key players, aren't they? Go D-Rays!

LL, if you are a 08 season ticket holder then you have to (actually had to about a month ago) put your deposit on your 09 package and purchase your post season package. If they didn't make the post season then the post season ticket prices would be applied to next years season tickets.

For non season ticket holders it looks like you have to register for the opportunity to get them.

I can tell you that for the playoffs we lost half of our season ticket seats to MLB and if we make it to the series we lose them all. We had to select seats in other areas in both cases for our post season ticket packages. So the seats availble to the general public are less than normal (don't know by how many) and season ticket holders get first dibs on what is left.

Billy, Carl Crawford is the main missing link right now, but just like when Evan Longoria was out, others have stepped up, there is some depth in this organization now too. Relief pitching is still a little iffy at times, but other than that they seem pretty darn solid.

Thanks for the info CMJ!

No game for us today frown
When I went to the Rays Tampa store at 1130, the game was sold out.
(except for a couple of single tickets scattered in the upperdeck).

But I got some of the last tickets for tomorrow’s game grin
Section 116, right behind the Rays dugout – awesome seats! d
It will be a madhouse today and tomorrow.

Today, I hope Kaz redeems himself after that last miserable start against the Red Sox.
If they can’t pull it off today, maybe they will when we are there for the last home game of the regular season tomorrow.

No one cares, but to correct my last post:
Willy Aybar changed his walk-up song.
While watching games this week it sounded different on TV, but we weren’t sure.
The radio played his current song this morning:
Oh hot dam, this is my jam
Keep me partying to the A.M.
Yall don't understand, make me throw my hands
In the ayer, ay, ayer, ayer, ay, ayer

Aybar has pretty good music selections all the way around d

Billy, Go Rays!! (Go D-Rays works too wink )

Man, I am excited about this team & the atmosphere!!
