I know, it is mid-May & as soon as I type this they could go 3 for 23...
But with their defense (wow!) and pitching... I doubt 3-23 will happen.
Even as a life long Red Sox fan (grew up in New England), it has always bothered me that Red Sox, Yankee and other fans flock and cheer for "their" team.
It is so nice to see 90% of the fans cheering for the home team!
Even if they only draw 13,000 to the Mausoleum nightly?!
Yes, I am happy the Devil Rays are doing well. And I will not call them the Rays, they are the Devil Rays. Just as the coffin they play in is not Tropicana Filed or the Trop. It's the Suncoast Dome!
But seriously, what MORON designed a baseball stadium in the Sunshine State thay has not windows and allows in no natural light?

I know you have watched games in the Trop, just as I have BillyB.
If you haven’t been there this season or last, there are some upgrades.
A lot of kid oriented games/demos, displays, different things that catch your attention.
I know the Trop is considered one of the worst baseball stadiums in MLB - by measurement standards anyway (I love the 72 degree temp, myself). It is a lot more comfortable than the proposed "Bayfront" open stadium that may replace it....
Actually, I've never been to a baseball game in there, just hockey. At least the D Rays (that's as short as I'll go on their name!) used to offer really inexpensive outfiled bleacher seats. Glad to see they have some activities to do. (Side note, my son thinks the local Single A baseball stadium is just where the "playground" is!)
An OPEN air stadium in Tampa, FL for a summertime sport? That's even dumber than building a dome without windows in St. Petersburg! Yikes, who's in charge down there???

That stadium has been a pretty good contributor to my livelihood over the years, so I have a soft spot in my heart for it. I also like the A/C, and the fact that we don't get rained out every third game.
They are really fun to watch this season, they have some great young talent. I have been to four or five games total including spring training, the only downside is the number of fans, it doesn't seem to be increasing. It's nice to know that they actually have a chance to win games!!

The Twins are building a new stadium at the moment.
I'm excited for when it opens to go see a game in the sunshine rather than in the Metrodome. It just seems wrong to go inside a dome on a beautiful day to watch a game.

What about in september/october?
Oh that's right. The Twins don't play in sept/oct.
Washington DC once again has a baseball team. Some bright bulb settled upon "The Nationals" as the team's name.
It was immediately shortened to "The Nats".
So the Nation's Capital now has a pro baseball team named after one of the most annoying insects on earth. Every time I hear that absurd name, I am ready to swat something.
Nats aren't Gnats! And the official name is still the Nationals. The Tampa club changed the name officially to the Rays. CMJ, I am not saying that having a dome with A/C is a bad thing. But allowing a little natural light, ala Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix, wouldn't be a bad idea. They have 4 huge panels in the walls that rotate open to allow light and fresh air in even if they don't open the roof.

The new stadium, if it happens, and if it looks like the renderings, will have a roof but open space between the roof and the structure, and I think it is suppose to be retractable. If I get a minute I will see if I can find a picture.

I am going to guess & say Admin may have meant sports talk, not listening to the entire game on talk radio.
Then again, I have great memories of listing to a Red Sox on the radio & still love it! Whether sitting with my grandfather in his truck in the driveway (bad reception in the house but the old AM ford radio picked it up clear) or sitting on the camp porch with my Dad... BSing, looking at the lake & the Red Sox playing in the background
