I happened to be at a marine swap meet and was going through some volvo parts from a shop that is getting out of the boating side of their business.

After pulling a few things out I said how about $100 for the hole rack.

They said sure.

So, I got 5 boxes of VP parts including trim senders, spark plugs, raw water pump, ECM, Plug wires, thermostats and a whole crap load of stuff.

I need to go through and catalog it, but it looks to be in the neighborhood of $2500 retail in parts for 3.0L, 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, 7.4L, SX and DP drives.

I'll be keeping what I can use and letting the rest go really cheap.

I also got 8 quarts of VP 80w-90, 6 orange CG vests (gave old ones when sold the boat), 2 auto inflatable vests, wakeboard, auto ratchet tie downs, 4 pairs of bearing buddies, and some other miscellaneous clears for a realy good price.

Hey SB, there is a guy on trailer boats mag's forums looking for an ECM for a 5.0Gi bad. He can't get it from dougrussell or his dealer. He posted a part number that he needs over there. The list on a new one, if he could get it is over $1000. Check the part number you got, if it matches, you just made 10x your initial investment.

I hope this doesn't get zapped, I am not trying to advertise their boards here, but this is the thread over there that the guy is looking for a VP 5.0 ECM:

Got a 3849411 trim sender?

My VP parts guy told me they get them off ebay when a customer needs one. Not very reassuring if mine ever goes bad.

Put a listing on here of what you'll be letting go when you can, I know the 5.7Gi I'm picking up needs a few routine things done to it.

I need a trim sender too but I dont know the part number. How can I find it. MIne is '91 5.7 Duoprop.

I talked to the owner of the business and he said he has more stuff I can come take a look at. He also said, no price is off limits. I'm hoping to go by in the next week or two to see what is there. I know they have more Merc parts and perhaps some other stuff.

I'm considering buying more if I can get it at pennies on the dollar.

I would be interested in that ECU if its still available.
