From the "no question is too dumb to ask" department, how is a Poker Run setup and run? I've heard of them many times, but don't know the details. I believe they race from spot to spot on lakes, etc; do they regroup at each checkpoint and start each leg even with a formal restart?
Is there poker involved, do they pick up cards in order of arrival? Best hand at the end wins?...or does poker really have nothing to do with it and there is just a point system?
I did quick search and just found some rule and flag info.
at, every Poker Run I have been involved with or even asked about, the time it takes to complete it has no bearing on anything. That's why I have always asked why Poker Run became synonymous with "race"? And yes, you pick up a card at each stop and the best hand at the end should win. 5 cards for each hand at all the ones I've ever done. No Texas Hold 'Em action that I am aware of.

I'm just happy to be here!
Hey Raff: Did you see the Skater with the twin jet turbine engines? We were at the Islander RV Resort the weekend after the Poker Run and they were loading it there at the ramp. This thing was pretty cool! Makes the ol' Monterey 253 EX look more than a little tame! My friend owns Phat Cat, one of the boats in your pictures. That's a waaaaayyyy cool boat too but it just goes to show ya', someone always has something bigger and better!
