OK Folks.

After a few years of many of you asking, we are now providing you a place to hock your wares.

Or to put it another way. "To sell your stuff".

http://www.boatingabc.com/classifieds/index.php

Also, see the link on the main menu bar above in between "FAQ" and "Photo Gallery".

This is free to active BoatingABC.com members. For our purposes "active" is defined as a member with a minimum of 25 postings on our forums.

I have set up a special user group that should automatically include members in it once they reach 25 postings. We shall see how well it works.

If someone should just happen to create a new account and then pad their post count to be able to place an Ad, you can pretty much count on the Ad being deleted and your user account being banned.

I am sure there are several overlooked items in this new area and it is likely to be a work-in-progress for a bit.

I just wanted to get it up and running now as it seems that if I wait until I have the time to do it right, it very well may never get done at all. ouch

Anyway, here's to hoping it works out.

DISCLAIMER

Anything listed for sale is done so by the listing member. BoatingABC.com has NO ROLE in the sale other than providing a means of bringing a seller and buyer together.

BoatingABC.com is NOT a party to any sale and makes NO warranty whatever as to the suitability , value, usefulness or condition of anything offered for sale.

Got my boat listed on there. After Admin advised me of picture file size required, I got it all figured out. Pretty easy, thanks!

Thanks for opening this site up. Over the years I've bought several things from BABC members. Now it will be easier.

Am I stupid? (That's a rhetorical question BTW)...

How do I place an ad? I can't find a "post ad" button?

While I was a frequent poster, I haven't been as of late (but lurk often) since I sold my boat last year. Does this not allow me to post a classified?

I still have lots of good, like new accessories that many would be interested in. SS Grill, Towables, Jackets, Lines, Fenders, Anchors, etc. all in like new condition.

I must just be overlooking it, I think??? Can someone please advise.

Top right hand corner, located within the header bar, it says "Place and Ad". It is located to the left of "log out".

Yup...there it is alright. I can swear that it wasn't there 10 minutes ago. Well, I prove to myself once again that I am indeed stupid. (no comments please)

I am happy to have been able to post my boat on here before anywhere else. Considering it's been view 99+ times and noone has sent me a message, I have to assume I won't sell it here. But it is a great place to put my thoughts down in preparation for listing it elsewhere.
Thanks Admin!!!!

I have listed mine as well. Most of us are pretty loyal to our current craft, but I think it is worth my time to try to sell her to a member of the BABC family.

I may have to go back to Craig's List and perhaps boattrader.

I have a slip renewal due June 1. I thought I might test the waters to see what the reacation would be. No bites here, but if it does not sell, them I'm stuck with another year of a fantatic, underused, over-cared for boat. grin

As always, I'll probably end up keeping her at least another season. Sometime, things are just meant to be together grin
