After selling my cruiser 3 years ago, I am looking for a bowrider that can fit in my 20' garage. For this to happen, I realize that I need one of those trailers with a folding tongue. Since a used boat is most likely going to be in my price zone, it might be difficult to find the right setup. My question is: could I have a regular trailer customized to have the folding tongue installed? Has anyone done this before or have more information?
Thanks.

My last boat was a '98 Four Winns and it had a removable tongue. My current boat is an '01 and it has one. I don't think it will be as hard as you think to find one.

I have seen kits to do it. Let me see what I can find.

I found some info out there. (I should have done a little research before posting). It looks like I have options (other than choosing my boat based on the trailer it comes with smile
Here is a discussion I found (if anyone is interested) http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum4/HTML/001213.html

Yeah, my neighbor cut his tongue and added one of those kits to make it a detachable one. He picked it up from a local trailer place.

It actually swings to the side.

Works great!

Good luck!

Guess I am not as couragious with modifying trailers. I have a folding tongue on my dual axle vanguard trailer, came that way from the factory....works great...especially considering the break connection and 5k boat. I've had removable tongues before and if the neck is long, they are heavy to put in and out.

I've got my 220, which with the swim deck and B3 needs about 25' in my 23foot garage (corner to corner).
