Our last boat had guide ons which were of great use for lining up the boat and ensuring it was centered. At the same time, they helped to keep it from blowing off on windy days.
I would like some that look nice and don't stick out like a sore thumb since these will be ad-ons.
Anyone have experience with ones that work good and look good.
Someday, maybe I'll have the sleeve welded on, but that won't be until I am ready to have the trailer repainted?

Unfortunately I don't think any of them add any appealing qualities to the rig. More of the very, very useful tool. I like these because they have the lights on the tops. More visibilty for the morons following you is always a good thing IMHO. Can't get the link to work, will keep trying but anyways West Marine has them(as well as other places) I'll keep trying

Short or long bunk style seems the best. Never used them since we only used the trailer twice a year. But for anything more it's a great idea. I just don't get the post type. Seems the plastic would scratch the gel coat.

Used both types. Both have advantages/disadvantages. But as far as scratching if you have the poles adjusted properly and they are they correct height they will rub the rub rail.

I think the guides are more psychological than anything. Reason why is all my other boats had then until the current boat. When I got it thought for sure I'd have to have them. Learning curve was pretty quick & i found no real need to add.
My thought might be try it without and see what you think.

You just have to make sure they are high enough to guide the boat on the trailer when the rear is deep on a ramp. Mine came with the Extreme trailer, they're tublular steel, unboltable and are carpeted with soft indoor outdoor carpet. They work great. Check page 40 of members boats and you'll see them on my Monterey.
