After working bell-shifts 6 of the last 7 days, finally had a day off to enjoy, but it was too windy to have much fun on the boat.
My wife had a morning meeting at the San Diego Convention Center, so we met for lunch at Seaport Village about noon. After lunch, I played the tourist and took a bunch of photos (duh!).
It rained a bit last night, really cleaned the air up and it was nice to see the bay from the mainland side for a change.
This huge statue is ralatively new, just south of the carrier/museum Midway. It is a depiction of the famous Times Square post WW2 "kiss" that Life magazine made famous.

A perspective on the size. I've noticed it several times from the water as well.

Also a few yards away from that big statue is the Bob Hope Memorial. Interestingly enough, it does not include a statue of Bob Hope, just his audience, but it is very realistic and impressive.

My old friends were docked right off Seaport Village, but I don't think they recognized me without ALoha2.

Interesting kite

In the Marriott Marina, next to the convention center. Think a couple MD's had a boat partnership?
