The engine box does not stop the full access to the fishing action.

Better access to fish all around the boat without any engine cowls or engine boxes against the transom to make for a longer reach?

I heard that the 390 was quite popular at the Miami show this year. Several orders with IPS were taken during the event. Fighting a big fish and having IPS joystick control is pure heaven for fishermen.



Available with outboard power as well.

Could be. But tournament center consoles are sold for performance. The IPS speed will need to be close to OB figures.

Still seems spooky having those 2 expensive props forward-facing with no protection whatsoever.

Many years ago, a front wheel drive car was considered "spooky" for most Americans. Not the same analogy as with IPS, but in a few years, IPS will be the drives of choice on larger boats.
