There are some areas where you would beach the boat and still have quite a distance to dry shore, but that happens pretty infrequently and only in certain areas. We tend to camp and beach at points where this is not the case.

As far as 'mucky', not at all. Sugar sand everywhere, no mud (very rare pockets are found), no rocks, no weeds. It's great stuff.

You don't often see areas like shown in this pic, thats what I thought was cool about it.
