Me too, but I like to make the pay later part short and then enjoy what I paid for a few years after I am done paying for it.

Just make sure that when you CAN'T "pay later" for whatever reason...you remember to look in the mirror, and not to my tax dollars!

One thing that comes up if you have to finance is that used car loans typically have higher interest and shorter terms, and not as much loan value for the car. A new car has a lower rate and if you let them string it out for you the payment is not much different. Credit unions and others will also buy that gap insurance and put it on the end of the loan so you can add more to the sticker price to cover what amount you may be upside down with on the tradein. I know it is easy to get caught up like that if you have a certain payment in mind and your old car is needing some work an you still owe on it.

Never have and never will on either the cant pay or look for a handout. Just because someone finances doesn't make them a bad investor or a sponge on society

Oh I know that. I thought by putting a smiley in the post...it would make it more obvious. My post was not to offend.
(BTW...there are people out their who would/do shift blame)

Trust me, I know that there are thousands of people that shift the blame and I don't know who to get more mad at them or the government for bailing them out over and over. But when someone who busts their behind to make a honest living needs a little help they won't qualify for the same help.
