Hey Admin

I was wondering if it would be possible for putting another Forum on the main list. This would have all the different areas that we all go to on. The people that would be from the areas would post pictures or put information on that area. It would be first hand information on that area. That way if you are new to the area. You can look it up also you would know who to PM. Also if you want to visit a new lake it would help you on what to look for. This is just a thought.

Might be fun. Good local information is always useful and it might help board members connect in person.

Not a bad idea at all.

I will give thought to how best to set this up. It is likely that I will not implement this until after the move, but it will happen.

TheHullTruth started regional forums a couple of years ago -

http://www.thehulltruth.com/category-view.asp?catlock=8

In the beginning there was a lot of question about how to define the regions. Members made suggestions. At times it seemed like a bidding war! As you can see from the post stats, activity varies quite a bit from region to region.

Another vote here for a BOATING AREAS or BODYS OF WATER forum.

Personally, I don't see why we need financial forums on this board. But that's me, and I don't count.

But sometimes people want to write about or ask quesitons about a distination or body of water. In my mind, BOATING LIFESTYLE may be the right place for this, but not a perfect fit. Sometimes they may go to FLOAT PLANS, but that's for specific trip planning.

I don't think we need diff forums for diff area's. But just one main forum for people to talk about the places we boat or may want to boat.

I thought that the FLOAT PLANS forum was for this? I like reading about people's places across the country and prefer it to be in just one spot, rather than segragated. I don't like segragation.

I like the idea of a section for this - geographic maybe with lake specific titles/threads.

I agree, but I can see where the title is a limiting for someone looking to ask about a certain boating area. Mabye a title tweak, since its not that busy of a forum anyway?

Float Plans & Places
Places & Float Plans
Float Plans & Questions
Destinations & Float Plans

Anyone think of a better forum description?

I am a heavy user of the Active Topics so in practice it might not make much difference for me personally either way...except on (rare) occaisions when I'm not around for a while. It might help new people though to either relabel or add fixed subtopics.

I have not given up this idea.

Hang in there. My staff called out sick all last week and we are a little behind on some things. wink

My thought exactly. It's kinda like adding to much crap to your boat, is it really needed?
