Tis bittersweet. Your season ends, while ours begins. Very nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the beautiful pics. How long do your winters last? Us Left Coasters and them thar southerners don't have that long of a break compared to the East Coast and midwest.

And if you follow GFC's and Troop Lewis's posts, there is no such thing as winter.

I guess it's our turn to start posting pics.

Deepv, so you knew it
I knew the comments, the tree would get, but it was on porpose.BTW, "popular believe" says that if you drink enough tea, made out of it leaves, you could " look like " the tree. It hasn´t worked for me yet , but will keep trying.
It is the Puyehue lake, 100 km. north from Puerto Montt and about 60 km to the Andes mountains. You can find it in google earth.
Our boating season starts mid September till April, but I have the boat 1000 km. from home so mine is much shorter.
In Viņa del Mar, by Valparaiso, winter is short and mild, the coldest could be 20 days and the lowest temp 12 ēC.
Thanks for the comments on the pics, and good winds to all the members.

Chili looks like Minnesota with all those lakes. With all those lakes about, why do you haul it 600 miles to this particular one.

Deepv:
The northern lakes, big ones and natural, are about 700 km. from home, are crowded and no fishing. The little towns by northern lakes do have discotheques, with lots of people, no parking places., and so on.
We wanted to take our 16 yrs. old son out of that. So we bought a piece of land, really close to the lake, by the naval country club, I am a member, and the location is close to a lot of good fishing places, the lake is unpoluted with really few boats and in winter the ski slopes are 30 minutes away by car, with few skiers so the waiting time at the lifts is almost nothing.
Are you close to Squaw Valley? My eldest son works as a ski instructor there.

I am in Southern California, near Bear Mountain / Snow Summit in Big Bear, a good place to ski in the summer too.

Our winter ski season is coming to an end in about 6 weeks and you are just getting there. Do they allow body contact (wake boarding, etc) on that lake, or only fishing?

There are no restrictions, you can ski, tube, wakeboarding, anything you want, but near the shore you have to look out for swimmers. There are seldom there but that makes it worst and more dangerous.

Great shots Minoletti. Just the thought of an end to the boating season makes me sad. I don't enjoy the year 'round weather that Trooplewis does, but we do boat throughout the year.
