Good stuff Dogg.
Although sad, it has to feel good to close this deal and move on.

Selling a boat and not having the next one locked up yet is a horrible feeling. Let's go shopping Doggg.

Congratulations on the sale of the Rinker. Besides the F.W. you posted before, any other prospects yet for your future boat?

There are a few...but we have not looked at anything yet. We want the check in our hands first.

2004 Four Winns 214 Funship - VP 5.0, 270hp

2003 Four Winns 240 - VP 5.7, 280hp w/ DP - not a huge fan of the bottom paint

2000 Four Winns 230

2004 Four Winns 224 Funship - VP 5.0 270hp w/ DP

2000 Four Winns 210

2003 Four Winns 214 Funship - VP 5.0, 270hp - this one has my interest, but might need some vinyl work

Like I said...we are just starting. We are not sure if we want to give a head and water. If not, we need to go larger bowrider and that will mean a little older. We would really like to find something we can just pay cash outright for...but know my wife and I that might not be possible. Not that we need new stuff, but we really like the redesigned Horizon series from Four Winns. Plus, when you get a little older, I just do not see any other manufacturer other than Four Winns that I like their bowriders...but who knows what we will find.

I like the redesign too but I think you get less seating space and more sunpad/swim platform.

My fav above is the 2003 240.

The older 240 design was really nice.

I would really like to get my hands on a 2004 or later 210/220 or 230/240 (main difference is 230/240 has a head and water) Four Winns Horizon. But first off there are very few for sale and second the ones that are for sale are waaaayyyyyyy over priced. It is amazing what people are asking. I have found a few...my wife and I need to narrow down to a)what we want/need in a boat and b)budget - before I go flying around the Midwest looking at boats.

Been...done that. If we were going to buy a cuddy we would just keep what we have.

I know that Dogg, that's why I was grinning. Of course, I think you should have kept what you had, and I told you that before. With one kid and hopefully another, a cruiser is exactly what I want.

Congrats on the sale. The 230 is a great boat & rides really nice. One thing to watch on the older one with the car style dash is they tend to have problems and need replacement. They eventually switched back over to regular individual gauges to resolve the problem. My friends had to have their replaced to the tune of about $700.

I think the car style VDO gauges went out in 2001, somewhere around there. My 1999 Sundowner 225 had them - never had any problems with them - but it was one of the few dumb ideas Four Winns had.

But you can (or at least could) buy a gauge replacement package from Four Winns for at least some models that retrofitted the gauge package with separate ones.

Of course, Doggg was as much of an expert at those gauges as I was.

Jeffski and WaterMutt -- you second my sentiment - That is WHY I bought the 2003 240 -- I do not care for the stern design of the newer Four Winns---- There are those who disagree of course -- and that is what makes this world go round, and not all cookie-cutter -- some difference of opinion --

Well...survey done today with only one minor issue. Gimball bearing was making a slight noise...so we are having it replaced. Deal will close tomorrow \:\(
