Guys I found a 2006 Regal 220 with 36 hours on it. They are asking $32k for the boat. it looks brand new. Is that too good to be true? It is a real long drive away so I'd rather no have to do it if it isn't necessary.

Regal makes a good boat. Check NADA to see what the used value is to give you an idea. How is the boat equipped? What motor/drive?

Don't know if it is too god to be true, but it could be a good deal. Perhaps someone trying to get out.

NADA is 24,900-28300 with a V-8, no other options and no trailer.

Regal makes very good boats. I would offer them $26,500.

Wow. I am surprised. I thought Regal would hold their value a lot better than that. I thought that boat was in the $40's new. Thanks guys. I definitely don't mind going in with a low offer and seeing if they bite.

Most drop like a rock the first few years. Depending on how it was outfitted it was probably in the mid to upper 30's. Maybe a little higher.

You're seeing the benefit of shopping for a newly-used boat. Let someone else take that depreciation hit. You're also buying at an ideal time in terms of the market.

2200 is one of my favorite Regals. What engine does it have? It would be a more desirable boat with a 5.7 rather than 5.0.

It really sounds like you are on the right track to me ---

and I agree -- let someone else take the degreciation -- I bought my 2003 Four Winns when it was three years old ----

I would also add --- boats are like houses -- don't fall in love with it -- until AFTER you own it -- while it may be a good deal -- it is certainly not the only good deal in the world -- particularily in todays economic climate ---

be objective --get educated -- and negotiate well ---

I wish it had the 5.7 but it is only the 5.0 (260) I think. I was looking on Craig's List today. Tons of boats for sale. This is going to be tough. Good problem though- too many to choose. Saw a 2003 Sea Ray 200 Select in the high teens. Looked pretty nice too. I'll keep looking.

I looked at the 2200 before I bought my Chap in 05. The 2200 with a 350 Mag / B3 came in right about 40K on a trailer. I imagine the 5.0 / Alpha could have been had for mid 30's.
Very nice boat BTW.

A Regal of that model may cruise cruise at 25 mph or over 30 mph, depending on engine choice. Value is often set by the engine choice.
