A few years ago we happened upon an "on the water" boat show at the State Park, west of Provo. Just wondering if anyone knows if this is an annual thing or what. It was alot of fun. With Willard bay pretty much out of service this summer, we will probably spend some weekends there this year.

Willard bay out of commission? What's up with that? I was planning on going there once or twice this season?

As for Utah Lake boat shows, or anything else for that matter---I have no clue! We (at Lindon Boat Harbor) were recently talking about this problem, how nobody from the Parks service or anywhere else on the lake ever lets us know ANYTHING. Mark, our harbor owner, is an avid sailboater, and he was quite upset after finding out there was a sailboat race last week staged at Provo boat harbor, and he knew nothing about it! He's been trying for some time to get everyone on the lake 'coordinated' so events can be planned and communicated to all...

But at this time, we're still in the "trying" stage. But I WILL look into any upcoming events....

FR - I was curious as to the water level at Utah Lake. I used to live in Sandy and actually purchased our boat @ Beckstrands. The last time (3-4 yrs. ago) I was there the lake was REALLY low.......has the level improved?

FR,
I don't know if you heard that the dike started leaking on the south east corner last fall. They had to pretty much drain it to make repairs. according to the park service and weber basin water they are only going to allow 2 feet of water from the current level to be stored this year to let them watch the repair. I talked to Cindi, one of the park rangers and she said the water is about 4 feet deep in the north marina and is useable, but the water doesn' even come close to the beaches. That is a bummer, cuz the really have made some cool improvments there. I'll keep ya'll posted on it.

Hope I didn't confuse you. My last post was in regards to Willard Bay near Ogden. As far as I know Utah Lake is full and really nice. FR may want to confirm.
Sorry about that.

There's a certain slip where I take my water depth measurements (the 'average' lake level is about a foot deeper)---back in '04, we put our Sun Runner in on April 15th, and the water was 59" deep. We had to pull out in mid July, the level fell to 39"...In February of '05 the level jumped to around 80", and we were elated! The level peaked at 84", and held thru August, then it started dropping, I think it got as low as 72"--still a far sight better than 39"! In February of '06, the water measured 2" shy of 10', 118", and that's about full pool!! If I remember, it only got as low as 94"...The lake is at or near full pool right now too, just hope it stays that way with the slim snowpack this year. We DO need some precipitation!

PB, I know there was supposed to have been something at Jordanelle last weekend--my buddy's wife's uncle (huh?) owns Marine Products. My buddy was trying to get me to come try the moombas and supras--but alas, too many honey-dos.

I think they had it last year too.
