Chuck, the little beach below the 6th? hole at Port Royal is one of my favorites. My current draft is almost 4' so I can't get very close. Most of that sandbar only has 3-4' at low water. It certainly is the stuff that travel posters are made of.

This is a "gunkhole" I found, where you can buy gas from a street pump @ street pump prices.

Chunder, really nice shots. Sure visualizes the low water problem. I sure hope this drought breaks soon. I'd love to see Lake Powell soon!

Gunkhole... a big spare closet where a person's gunk goes... you know, all those things you just can't part with but haven't used or seen in years! Thats my definition and I'm sticking to it!!!

With Lake Powell being down some 137' and still letting out more than is coming in as has been the case for several years, a lot of flotsam has built up upstream and if we have a good runoff from the Rockies this spring, we'll have a lot of "stuff" in the water, especially from Bullfrog/Hall's Crossing, north. That makes for alert helmsmen but great bonfires.....!!! A USPS ranger once told me to burn all I could find but I am not sure they feel that way today....
