I’m seeing lots of new boat owners here and it’s great to see so many newbees discover the wonderful Lifestyle of Boating! Our chosen obsession has lots to offer and is one of the most rewarding and pleasurable of our lives. It can also be just a little intimidating to the non-initiate, so I am listing here a few threads that will help you all with your first season.

I know that many of you have been lurking for a while and may have seen some (or all) of these, but I list them for those who may have missed them and for review. ;\)

Lessons for Beginners

Launch Ramp Issues

Some very good "rules" of boating.

First Aid Kit

Proper way to tie up in a slip

Anchoring 1

Anchoring 2

Anchoring 3

Do I accept money from friends for gas?

Where do I store my fire extinguisher?

How about those PFDs?

Preparing to tow

Towing Guide

Trailering - How do I stop this thing?

How\'s the trailer holding up?

OK, this should be enough for a start. If anyone has a topic to add to this list, please feel free to do so.

I look forward to reading about everyone’s boating adventures as the season progresses!

As always, if you have any questions, this is the place to ask them.

Admin,
I'd like to suggest a thread. How about a list of "must haves" in terms of tools and materials to do emergency repairs. I recently saw a pretty comprehensive list of items but, now that I'm ready to put the kit together, I can't remember where I saw the list. I thought about starting a thread but didn't want to get a thread going with a lot of repeats. Is it possible to set up a thread where posters can add items to the list without creating a multi-page thread? I think we can start the list with the obvious items i.e.: Screwdrivers, knife, pliers, etc. but, maybe someone can provide some insight as to how they, in their own McGyver way, came up with some unique items to keep on hand.

Greg,

Good idea.

Here\'s a link on the theme of what you are trying to find.

I do not have the time just now to find others, but will look into it later today.

The board software does not directly support what you describe, but there are always way to work around that.

Perhaps this will make for a good focused topic that everyone can reply to listing all the items that they have stowed on board.

I can then condense it to keep all the good stuff on the first page if it should wander off topic.

Feel free to start it if you like.

Guess who's Weatherman is calling for a sunny 80 degree day tommarow ???

Guess who just moved his delivery date up to tommarow ??

Guess who called " Johnny Props " and asked him if he wanted to go on a maiden voyage ??

Brian -

The boat came in 6 weeks early and the traierl 3 weeks late. The 200 has been in CT waiting for the trailer to be built and delivered.

I am set for delivery of both the traierl and boat tommarow at 2:00 \:D
