Thanks for the compliments. The Durango is a SLT with heated front seats(for momma), tow package, overhead console, and midgrade stereo. It tows the boat very well and will climb hills faster than I like to tow. The best part is that it gets better MPG that my Dakota and has lot more power. We both liked the way the Aspen looked on the front, but wow they get quite a premium for them.

This is the way to attack the Texas Hill Country... No towing anxiety/headaches...

226, That is a sharp looking setup. That grille guard is one serious looking piece!

Thanks. It went on primarily for times like last Saturday night. When I am on may way back from the lake in the evening, and "Rudolph" jumps right out in front of the truck, I'll only take evasive action if it's safe. Many accidents are caused by folks doing something stupid when they see a deer in the road. Sure, I'll try and avoid him if possible, but with a boat on my back, if I can't, I'm not going to risk a catastrophe. The truck is slightly raised, so I'd hope not to get to much "debris" over the hood. I hope it does not happen, but will be prepared if it does.

Here's our rig. 05 Trailblazer 4.2L I6. Gets the job done. Took the photo on the way home in the rain from picking our Wellcraft up from the dealer.

Here's a picture of our rig coming down the Kern canyon after a weekend at Lake Isabella.

Ahhh, Lake Isabella....

Spend some good fun family visits there, on fishing trips.

Haven't been there as a grown up with my own boat yet.

Used to be a sign as you were entering the lake about so many lives lost. That used to scare me. Do the winds still kick up. I hear the warning beacon/light on the mountain isn't there anymore...

BTW: Nice rig/setup. You are ready for battle!

Got to better match those colors when you upgrade your boat ;\)

Nice. And welcome to the boards. Was it windy up there?

Most times you can count on the wind coming up around noon, but the last 2 times we have been up there it stayed calm all day.

We usually fish early before the wind comes up and get off when the lake starts to get rough, or if it stays calm we go back to the ramp and pick up the wakeboard and tube and stay all day.

I made the mistake 1 time of getting caught at the far end of the lake and not getting back when I should have. It is amazing how big the waves can get on that lake, pretty scarey.

Now I'd be using up that morning glass for wakeboarding and maybe do some fishing at dusk, but that's just me.

I never intended for it all to match but it seemed to happen that way:
