118' by 26' 3" and 209,439 lbs. at half load. Power can vary up to three turbines (used for high speed cruising only) of 5,600 Hp each for a total of 16,800 Hp plus two diesels for low speed work. So its a five engine boat.

The interior is as different as the outside is dramatic.

I've been looking at that thing for a while now. Couple of thoughts: new, different, and dramatic it certainly is. Performance characteristics are compelling. But tell me honestly--have you ever seen a more austere craft in your life? Is there ANYTHING about this boat that makes you want to spend time on it--(other than the obvious speed run?)

Thanks for the post. This should be interesting.

Thanx seabud. First clear photos I have seen of the thing. Should be enough to scare the crap out of BoatCop, huh?

I dunno FLB, I can see myself with a bevy of young beauties sitting around that 'austere' cabin sipping 3000 year old Agave Anejo extract and lighting pre-Castro Cuban Trinidads with hundred dollar bills.... while helping George Jr. figure out how to pay for the war effort.....

and I'll bet you could probably drive the DAM thing right thru 'Hurricane Sweet Cheeks' in the Caribbean on your way to your St. Croix shoreline villa hide-a-way..... but yeah, beyond that I got no use for it at all......

Some kind of strange.

Someone must have too much time and money on their hands.

Dramatic to look at, but where's the "cush"?

When I get my island, I'll have them throw one of those in the deal.

Looks like something the Army hatched up.

Or maybe throw in the island on the deal?

OK, there has to be a story behind this boat. Anyone know?

This is Luca Bassani's (founder of Wally Yachts)pet project. Read all about it here.

I agree with FLB's statement. There's nothing there to make me want to spend time on the boat (inside or outside). Sure, the speed run would be fun.

Besides, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of my budget. ;\)

After looking over the pics again, I realize what it is about the boat that I don't like. It has too many angles and not enough curves. \:\)

Amazing!!

I think it's great that someone can build a stainless steel boat that stops everyone in their tracks. Sort of like watching MJ play basketball, or reading about Edison's inventions - It takes a tremendous amount of planning, effort, vision and salesmanship to get something like that done - and lots of cash.

I read the article, and it's not stainless steel, but metallic painted fiberglass - it still looks good.

That looks.... well..... Interesting to say the least. Man, 118' and fiberglass, that had to be one humungous (sp?) mold.

With those air intakes right there, I wonder what it would be like with a few rolling 4-5 footers

The interior could have been better (like have one). It does look like George Jr. would smoke a cigar while discussing his political future in it.

You would undeniably have EVERYONES attention as you motored thru the marina.... I still find it pretty interesting.... and I could easily spend a few days aboard to 'dry run' the amenities….

Stateroom looks pretty DAM engaging…, and I just love the Cigar Lounge out front..

So? Has anyone else besides CM and FLB been to the actual web site for this puppy yet? I myself only just did.

http://www.wally.com/jumpch.asp?idChannel=44&idUser=0&attivo=2-4

There are far more images and complete technical specs for her there. Check out how the forward deck opens up to expose a really nice lounge area and more.

When taken in full, this boat looks less austere, as it has a full load of creature comforts. For instance, check out the water purifier that can replenish the 300+ gallon fresh water tank.

Then check out the staterooms and all the other amenities. With a 1500 nm range at 9 knots, max speed of 65 knots and everything else this boat has, it qualifies as a true luxury cruising yacht. Perhaps not my first choice, if I actually HAD the money, but there does not seem to be anything left out if the style tickles your fancy.
