resize my digital photos so I can upload them to the board? They are too large to be acceptable. \:\(

Try http://www.cnet.com - get to the download section and find one of many resizers.

Your camera's software should also be able to allow you to resize very easily - even entire batches of photos at once.

BIG WARNING - Make a seperate directory - copy the pictures to be resized and work / save from that directory.

Good Judgement and Forethought are the Results of Bad Experiences ;\)

Good Luck

Over the years I've lost a picture or few if you know what I mean.

I'm pretty good now. I upload to a printing service right after downloading the card - and a back up to a drive on another machine over the network in the house ( the joy of a home office ) and burn CDs pretty often. At 25 cents or less - no excuse - make a down and dirty back up and sort and cull later.

Chances are you can download a copy from the Camera manfacturer's site also.

cheaters way of doing it...

open the photo as a bitmap in microsoft paint...at the top, go to "image" the choose "strecth / skew"

it will give you a menu to change to size for stretch in percentages, give it a smaller value then what is there (100%)..make it 75% or smaller, make sure you do it to both horizontal and vertical before you save it as a different picture...

the old one will stay the same as before....

For those that have Windows XP, Microsoft finally did something simple and right. Just open any picture on your hardrive, 'right click' on it, on the menu that pops up, 'left click' "Resize Pictures" then simply select the size you want from the box that pops up. If the original image is called 'Bird' it will make a copy labeled appropriately enough: Bird (medium) if you select Medium size.

You can select 'Advanced' to override and change the original... not recommended as mentioned above!

I'm a big fan of 'right clicking' whenever I get stuck trying to do something on the computer. The menu that pops up is often useful.

If you don't have the option athiker described, go to the MS Powertoy Site and download/install the Image Resizer program.

Hey Hotbyte...now that I think about it...I may of had to download it originally as well. I can't remember now. Thanks for posting the link. Amazing something so useful these days wouldn't be included in the standard install. I guess I gave Microsoft too much credit after all!
