Agree with you on the current market. If i found the right deal I would go ahead & buy first. Selling doesn't seem to be an issue these days. Real estate market is the same around here. Stuff is selling for crazy money....

I installed a 4' antenna when I added a VHF to my boat. I was able to get clear reception at about 8 miles to our local radio test station going over land/hills, no line of sight. Never tested it further to see when it would drop-off. While an 8' would be even better, it seeme...

This looks like a solution to a problem that was solved decades ago when someone invented fenders and dock lines. $400 buys a lot of fenders and lines and like FR said fenders don't sink. Looks like an item they would sell to millennials who just bought their first boat....
